A few days ago, I sent a plea for immediate and increased financial support in order for the Conductors Retreat to meet the October 31 deadline and return to Medomak for our 27th summer. We are touched and thankful for the many expressions of support and encouragement, as well as the ideas and suggestions we received.
|
At the beginning of this campaign, it was such a touching and inspiring moment when Wynton Marsalis endorsed our work and affirmed our values with his gift of $10,000. In recent days, with the deadline approaching, 35 people responded to our need by giving for the first time or by increasing their past donations by as much as 50% or 100%, and one loyal friend of the Retreat increased their contribution from $7,000 to $20,000!

We are pleased and excited to report that the Conductors Retreat family’s heartening outpouring has resulted in donations of $65,971 to be added to this summer’s tuition revenue. It is breathtaking to see how far we have come, however, we still need $15,000 to fully meet our obligations next summer. Nevertheless, with the confidence that we will be able to meet our ultimate goal, the Chair of our Board of Directors has informed Medomak Camp that the Conductors Retreat will be returning next summer!
