Dear reader,

Thank you for joining us on Saturday for the third annual William Grant Still Workshop for Black conductors! In follow-up, I am writing to share a few pieces of information as well as to ask for your feedback on the workshop.
  1. We are unfortunately unable to share a PDF of the score, but please find the University of Michigan recording of Tales: A Folklore Symphony by Carlos Simon at this link.
  2. The conducting exercises to which Ken referred during the technique portion are available for you here.
  3. Contact information of Workshop guests/presenters, in alphabetical order:
We hope you found the Workshop to be empowering and informative, and we invite you to complete a short survey to help us improve your experience in future Retreat programming as well as to improve the Workshop for future participants. All questions are optional and you may submit your responses anonymously or choose to include your name:
Finally, the application for this summer's Retreat is now open, and we encourage you to apply! By attending the Workshop on Saturday you are eligible to apply for the William Grant Still Scholarship, which provides full tuition and travel for the Retreat plus continued mentoring and support after the conclusion of the summer.

Please feel free to be in touch with any questions you may have about the contents of the Workshop, the Retreat, etc. or if there is any way we may be of assistance to you in your conducting journey.

Thank you and best wishes,

Emily Krasinski
